Studio
The project is the initiative by Vito D’Onghia (actor and producer) who has been able to spur the desire and the curiosity of Simone Tolomelli (the author) in adapting the story, previously published on his blog. The arrival of the young novice Lorenzo Giordano has also created a team of three that have equally contributed to the scene and the realization of the first screenplay. The days of shooting were two, in Liguria, in different locations between Lavagna and Riva Trigoso. The editing was done by the fourth member of the team Marco Bonini, who professionally takes charge of sewing and unstitched the previous tack again and again. It is mainly thanks to his contribution that the project has finally found the right path.
Synopsis
The story develops in a prison camp where a soldier lives his personal defeat as a man imprisoned in others’ meanings. It’s a monologue that walks the audience along the desperate descent to the awareness of failure. The soldier is required to guard a prisoner and doing so he wonders about his attitude, his life, the moment that he is living and he compares himself to the prisoner and only in the end he realizes that they’re the very same man. How much they both have been considered and intended. The figure nearly semiotics, iconic, of the prisoner is for the soldier both a way of escaping and saving at the same time.
The budget
The entire project was carried out at zero budget. No one who has participated has been paid for the work. Nor was there any disbursement for the rental of equipment and materials used. It was important to demonstrate that the work and passion of people could actually overcome the typical obstacles faced by production companies.
